Founded by the boxing champion Abdoulaye Fadiga, this sports academy imposes its professionalism in the gymnasium and in the best hotels.

When Abdoulaye Fadiga, 9 times French champion and 4 times world champion in Muay Thai (Thai boxing), opened the Champion Spirit academy in 2018, his ambition was much more than to offer a new gym in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. “It is the first sports teaching academy created by and around high-level athletes, called masters of art,” says the champion. “The idea is to put these sports experts in touch with amateur athletes who want to learn from a master. A boxing trainer, a body-building expert or a yoga expert have different skills. Some trainers focus on power, others on strength, endurance or technique. So every time we have to find the right sports expert to suit each member, both humanly and athletically.
With only 500 members, the address is confidential and the tailor-made programme starts with a personalised assessment. During this assessment, the Biotest is offered. This allows for a precise diagnosis of the condition of the new member’s body, the identification of harmful products from a list of 220 food items, and finally, the identification of nutritional deficiencies or surpluses. This is a valuable tool for optimising the energy made available during training sessions. At the end of this 360° analysis, a physical trainer then proposes an adapted plan which can be based on multiple disciplines: English boxing, tai chi, weightlifting, karate, wrestling, Pilates, body sculpt, etc. “For our members, the Champion Spirit academy quickly becomes their third home, after their home and office,” smiles Abdoulaye Fadiga. “It is a place to live, with a restaurant, a juice bar and many events that create a community of members. Families are also welcome as we receive children on Wednesdays and weekends.
But Parisians are not the only lucky ones to benefit from this sophisticated facility. Champion Spirit is the first company to offer hotels a complete package to improve the profitability of their sports facilities. Cheval Blanc, Lutetia, Le Bristol, La Réserve, Mandarin Oriental and Fleur de Loire have all optimised the potential of their gyms by entrusting them to the Champion Spirit teams. “We are the only ones who can provide any trainer in any hotel”, says Abdoulaye Fadiga. “A Chinese-speaking swimming expert? We can find it!”. Champion Spirit regularly brings coaches to the Mandarin Oriental. They supervise, guide and animate the hotel’s fitness area. And, the best part is that complete sportswear will soon be available in every room. Because you don’t always travel with your running shoes!
