The intimate boutique of Avril Gau can be found in the quiet street of rue des Quatre-Vents. “The shop is tiny, a bit tucked away, but it’s our favorite, explains the designer smilingly. Either you stumble across it or… you really go looking for it!” An idea to follow to the letter. You will discover the high-end range of shoes and bags designed by Avril Gau since 2000, the year the brand was created. Previously, the stylist had put her talent at the service of Chanel, Loewe, Jourdan, Accessoire Diffusion, Stéphane Kélian or Isabel Marant. “We create accessories that are innovative in their simplicity, yet functional, comfortable and easy to use. We put poetry in everyday objects.” An elegance enshrouded in singularity, which notably is reflected in creations with astonishing volumes, playing with the codes of chic or a fabulous work on the colours. The end result is a product whose character is far from ephemeral. “Our customers know that the bag purchased here will not be outdated in 3 months,” confirms Avril Gau. In addition, every detail is perfectly finished and the materials are of the highest quality. “We do simple things that, in order to become exceptional, require high-end leathers and special finishing, such as waxed edges on sandals and bags. The most beautiful bags are in a leather made in Alsace by Degermann, a tannery that supplies the big fashion houses and a few tiny ones… like us!”
