The former piscine of the Lutetia, a real Art Deco treasure, has been home to the 1,500 m2 Hermès concept store since 2010. The main staircase, the mosaiques, and the “diving board” where you can have tea with a view over the former basin, are really worth a visit. This is a precious address for those who appreciate a large choice of French luxury gifts: for the home (from the traditional trinket bowl to the magnifying glass from the Equilibre collection), saddlery and leather goods, perfumes, jewelry, prêt-à-porter for both ladies and men. Some pieces are unique, like the bike in carbon fiber, clad in fine leather, or the Slim watch, with its slate dial, steel case and matte alligator strap. Or for a connected version, the Apple Watch 2, with a Hermès single or double tour strap. Among the new arrivals, the silver necklace “Chaîne d’Ancre” is sure to strike a sentimental chord with many fans of Hermès. The “carrés” printed on cashmere and silk, or in silk twill, available in a wide range of vivid colours (size 90 or 140 cm) are of course the main symbols of the brand. These original drawings glorify the equestrian world, the wildlife of the naturalist Robert Dale, the “royal Tiger” or the coral paths… New to the fall-winter collection of 2016 is the scarf “Plume II”, a reprint of the 1964 model. And if your wardrobe is jam-packed of scarves and shawls already, go for the latest perfume “Galop d’Hermès” in a stirrup shaped bottle which will take no space at all. Tally Ho, off we go!
